The director is a higher position between the two. This is the position of the person who is in charge of managing all of the managers. In a lot of organizations, there are various employees who will work on the smaller tasks and projects, and they will be managed by the manager.
The director will then work on the tasks that are considered to be more high-profile or would need more experience. A lot of managers will not only manage the rest of the employees. They will also be in charge of providing proper training. They would also encourage and give tips and advice to those who are under them.
