A lot of people may get confused with striped bass and white bass because they have certain similarities. For example, they both have patches on their tongues that feel like sandpaper. The main difference between the two is the number of patches that you can find.
The white bass will only have one patch while the striped bass will have two patches. Take note that there is a hybrid version of these two types of bass that will look a bit different. The white bass and the striped bass are easy to distinguish when you see them. Another difference between the white and the striped bass is their body shape.
