It can be confusing for some people to know the difference between army reserves and national guards. This is true, especially when you have not done enough research about the two. The main difference is national guards will usually have several missions that they have to do.
They may sometimes be called to respond to various calamities that are happening. This is different for the reserve guards that will not have regular missions. They also do not have a state mission. In times of calamities, they will not be called to respond to floods and earthquakes.
