Many people use regret and guilt interchangeably. it is very important to make a distinction between guilt and regret.
Guilt arises from doing something wrong that we know is not right while regret on the other hand is the result of knowing that some action or something could have been done in a better way from the way it was done.
Most times regret always inspires a positive resolution or action while guilt has no positive resolution on an individual. Guilt carries a persistent bad feeling toward oneself and can lead to a condition like depression while regret doesn’t cause a persistent bad feeling.
Regret also acts as a source of motivation to be more cautious in any decision while guilt doesn’t act as a source of motivation.
