Purebred and hybrid are two types of genetic makeups. They are normally used to describe the genetic makeup of dogs. A purebred describes when the genes are alike. An example of that is YY or yy, where these genes are identical. Hybrids are different because they are genes that have different traits.

An example of this is Yy. Hybrids are related to purebreds because a hybrid is when two purebreds with opposite traits are cross bred. There are many types of hybrids, which include selective hybrid, intraspecific hybrid, interfamilial hybrid, and intergenic hybrid. A hybrid is done to create a species that has particular characteristics.

Genetics can be defined as the genetic makeup of an individual or species. A gene expresses a trait that the organism will have; a gene has multiple expressions.

Purebred is offspring that result from the mating of a similar parent. The idea of purebred has fundamental characteristics that are consistent, replicable, predictable. Pure breeding is of necessity carried out from a restricted gene pool, which has been a cause of concern.

Hybrids are offspring that result from the mating between two genetically parents. There are various kinds of hybrids, which include interbreeding of two species, intraspecific hybrid, intergenic hybrid, interfamilial hybrids. Another type of hybrid is a selective hybrid, which helps to enhance a consistent, desirable characteristic.
