An absolute path, which is also called a full path, points to the same spot in a file system irrespective of the current working directory; however, it must include the root directory. The relative path starts from a working directory do you do not need to provide the absolute path.
To make it easier to understand the absolute path refers to the same location in a file system coming from the root directory, and the relative path comes from a specific area in the present directory in which you are working.
