The Coolpix S6100 and S6200 are both closely packed cameras by Nikon. They both offer an awesome 16 megapixels of resolution. Even though they both have that resolution awesomeness in common, there exists still, series of variations between the S6100 and the S6200. Firstly, the main difference between the two cameras is observed in their zooming Capacity.
This places the S6200 over the S6100 in that it is capable of close to 10X optical zoom compared to just 7X with the S6100. Also, another pronounced difference that can be observed between the S6100 and the S6200 is in their screens. The S6200 has a rather smaller screen about 2.7 inches in comparison to the 3 inch screen of the S6100. The S6200 depends on a set of touch buttons on the side of the screen for controlling while the S6100 has a touch screen interface that allows you to explore the options on-screen.
The Coolpix S6100 and S6200 are two pocket-sized cameras manufactured by Nikon that offers 16 megapixels of resolution. How far either camera zooms in may not be different, but you will see more degeneration on the S6100 if you zoom in too much. The other significant difference between S6100 and S6200 is their respective screens. The S6200 screen is smaller compared to the S6100.
The S6200 depends upon a set of buttons on the right of the display for navigation, and the S6100 has a touchscreen interface that allows you peruse the screen. Many people do not like complicated, flashy cameras when they are taking pictures at a birthday celebration, graduation, or some other special occasion. They want easy to access buttons and functions, so the focus is on the celebration, not how to work the camera. These cameras are identical in function; however, the S6100 is somewhat easier to navigate.
