There has been a lot of argument that there is no difference between HRM and personnel management. But with the help of an expert, some of the difference has been spotted. HRM stands for human resources management. It is much broader than personal management; it incorporates and develops personnel management skills. It is the human resources that develop a team of an employee for an organization. The main focus of human resources is to develop a dynamic culture. Human resource is stated to be proactive. Human resources motivate the employee by motivating human resources, effective strategies for facing challenges, and workgroups. Personal management deals with employees their payroll and employment laws. It is regarded to be more administrative. Personal management tends to motivate employees with compensation rewards and bonuses. Lastly, personal management is considered to be reactive.

Personnel management is known to be more of an administrative function in nature. The functions of personnel management basically have to do with employment laws and payroll of the employees. In contrast, HRM -Human Resources Management performs functions such as managing the workforce and also contributes to the success of an organization. On a wider note, Human Resources Management is more acknowledged than personnel management.

It has been proven that HRM can also develop and incorporate personnel management skills. The HRM is in charge of creating an organization's team of employees. The tasks that the Human Resources Management performs can relatively be described as a proactive one, while the tasks performed by the personnel management can be described as being reactive in nature. Human Resources Management is well known to be an integral part of an organization, whereas Personnel Management is mostly independent of the organization.
