Diclofenac sodium and Diclofenac potassium are two examples of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Both work very similar since they contain diclofenac. However, one of the major differences between the two is that they are used to treat different types of pain. For example, Diclofenac is used mostly to treat arthritic pain, and it also helps to reduce the swelling of the joints.

Apart from these benefits, Diclofenac sodium can also be used to treat chronic muscle pain and headache. Although this drug can be bought over the counter, it works well when you use it based on your doctor's prescription. This is because it comes with certain side effects such as diarrhea, heartburn, nausea, mostly when it is used inappropriately. On the other hand, Diclofenac potassium is used to treat mild pain, as well as inflammation. It gives similar benefits just like Diclofenac sodium, just that it can only be effective for mild arthritic pain. Although it also has certain side effects, it is still safer compared to Diclofenac sodium.

There are two different kinds of diclofenac, which is a non -steroidal anti-inflammatory NSAID. It is used in many different parts of the world to relieve people from their pain and inflammation. Diclofenac is also offered for the treatment of arthritis, pain related to premenstrual syndrome, and dysmenorrhea. Diclofenac potassium is the preferred medicine because it absorbs in the system rapidly and starts analgesic activity faster than Diclofenac sodium.

Sodium and potassium salts are both different in the way that they work and, thus, cannot be treated equally in their dose. Potassium is released right away, while sodium is an extended release. When treating more intolerable pain, the potassium form is administered. Diclofenac is available in many different forms, such as cremes, gels, and tablets. Injections are also common for more intense pain.
