The human brain is bilateral, which means it has two sides. The two sides of the human brain are known as hemispheres, and that is why a part is called the right brain hemisphere, and the other side is known as the left brain hemisphere. One of the major differences between the right and left brain is that the right brain hemisphere controls the left side of the human body, while the right side of the human body is controlled by the left brain hemisphere.

Most times, both right brain and left brain have similar functions, but when it comes to spatial cognition and language, they differ. The processing of information by the left brain hemisphere is done in sequence, whereas the processing of information by the right brain hemisphere is done randomly. That is why people who are right-brained perform their tasks randomly, whereas the left-brained ones are more systematic when performing certain tasks.

Both sides of the brain have similar tasks to perform with motor systems and other systems; however, they process information in different ways. The left brain processes it from sections to the whole while the right brain hemisphere processes it from entire sections, as it sees the picture first before analyzing any of the details. The left brain also processes information in sequence, and the right side of the brain processes at random.

Left-brained people are usually avid planners. They must have everything to be neatly structured. They also generally feel more comfortable and secure having control over their life. The right-brained, on the contrary, may not be able to concentrate on one thing at a time, and they often move from one project to the next and do things at random. The left brain is also astute in processing symbolism and language. These are the math students who received all A’s. The right-brained express themselves differently. They may know the answer, but they don’t know how to explain it.
