The word "Sabbath" comes from a Hebrew word ‘shin-beit-Tav,’ and when translated, it means to rest. Sabbath is observed by both Jews and Christians since it is one of the Ten Commandments given to the people of Israel by God through Moses. According to this commandant, Israelites were instructed to observe the Sabbath, which is the seventh day of the week i.e.Saturday.

The word
God commanded the Israelites to remember the Sabbath day and that they should keep it holy. According to the instructions that follow the commandment, Israelites are not expected to work on that day because it is a day of rest and worship. For the Jews, Saturday is still their Sabbath day. On the other hand, Christians observe the Sabbath on the first day of the week i.e., Sunday, except for some denominations in Christianity that observe the Sabbath on Saturday. For Jews, they are not expected to engage themselves in some activities on the Sabbath, whereas there's no rule stopping Christians from working on the Sabbath day.

The significant difference between the two religions is that Jews have a plethora of rules concerning the Sabbath, while Christians only have a few regulations regarding the Sabbath. Jews observe the Sabbath from sunset to sunset. It begins on Friday and ends on Saturday. It has only been in current times that Christians observe Sabbath on Sunday.

The significant difference between the two religions is that Jews have a plethora of rules
The Christian faith, as a whole, does not put any restrictions on people or force them to adhere to the guidelines of any ritual. It also does not prohibit any work or activity, either. The Jews, on the other hand, have stringent rules as to how they should honor the Sabbath. Many forms of work and activity are forbidden. They are also not allowed to plow, weed, sew, or drive a car. The Jews declare that it is best to study the holy book instead. Some of the traditions they follow on the Sabbath include lighting candles and reciting a hymn to sanctify wine. Jews pray on the Sabbath more than any other day.
