Some people can become confused with antibiotics and antimicrobials because they are both under antimicrobials. An antimicrobial is known to be a category of items that will kill different types of microbes.

An antibacterial is a type of antimicrobial but it will only have the ability to kill different types of bacteria. An antibiotic is a bit different. It will have the ability to target, get rid, and kill the different pathogens that are available.

Take note that the different antimicrobials will have different targets. There are instances when they can kill foreign substances and microorganisms in the body regardless of whether they can cause serious damage to the host or not.
