There are a lot of things that may seem similar in the beginning but the more that you know about them, the more that you would realize that they are not the same. Oil is known to be made out of different hydrocarbons. You can expect that the hydrocarbons are going to be complex.

Natural gas, on the other hand, will also be made out of different hydrocarbons but will also be composed of various gasses and also methane that you cannot expect from an oil.

Oil and natural gas are two of the things that people use for heating. The fact that they are both energy commodities makes them very important in allowing people to live easier lives.
