Windows Vista was released for use on January 30, 2007, and Windows 7 was released for use on July 22, 2009; however, it was not available for consumer use until October 2009. Vista did have several features that were not available on previous versions, and there were six different editions of Vista. Vista replaced the well know Windows XP, and it was not user friendly for those that were used to its predecessor.
Vista was replaced by Windows 7 two-and-one-half years later and was more user friendly and is still used today even though there have been upgrades, and it is no longer supported as of January 2020. Seven was better than Vista on many levels, including faster booting, PowerShell, user account control, and improved window use.
