These two words are different things that are used interchangeably for each other; gossips and slander are both nouns; they both talk bad about a person or a group. Slander and gossip can be carried out by one or more persons. Gossip can be defined as someone how to like to talk about one’s private matter or a genre in contemporary media, usually focused on the personal affairs of celebrities. It is an old English word “Godsibb,” meaning Godparent, usually a woman.
Gossips are generally negative. Slander can be defined as a false or unsupported statement, especially the one which is injurious to a person's reputation. It is a Late Latin word “scandalum” which means to cause offense. Slander can also be called defame and libel.
Slander is known to be a type of statement that has been used in order to provide some danger to another person’s reputation. This type of statement is usually unsupported and will usually be malicious by nature.
Gossip is something that can be done by people whenever they are bored or when they just want to talk about other people in general.
There is a possibility that the things that will be said are also malicious but the main goal of spreading gossip is not really to ruin people’s reputation but merely to talk about other people’s lives. A gossip usually stems from the person’s behavior.
