The Indian railway is owned by the state, and the day to day activities are run by the Indian government through the ministry of the railway. The IRCTC (Indian railway catering and tourism cooperation) helps to check ticket available on online, on these tickets, you will find certain status on them, and this will either be RLWL or WL.

WL means “waiting list,” the train has a specific number of available seats; if at the time you are booking, there are available seats, then your tickets are instantly confirmed. If there is no available seat, then your tickets will be a “WL” ticket. Boarding a train with WL will cost you a certain amount of fine. RLWL stands for “Remote Location Waiting List.” It is a type of waiting list tickets; most of the trains have remote locations that have an important station where they can stop to pick passengers. Remote location waiting list passengers have reserved seats, and these are few.

You need to know that WL and RLWL are acronyms. RLWL means Remote Location Waiting List while WL stands for Waiting List. When you say RLWL, the ticket is normally issued between the station where the ticket originated up to the terminating station.

When you say WL, this means that the ticket that you have booked is already on the waiting list. You need to remember that getting RLWL can be a bit hard because there is no way of knowing if the ticket that you have booked is already confirmed. It can probably be a bit problematic for you. You will only know if this is confirmed if someone from the boarding station has already canceled.
