What is the difference between Travelers and Tourists?

Travelers and tourists are terms that are usually used interchangeably for each other, which incorrect. Travelers and tourists are both people who travel to different locations, always have it in mind all tourists are travelers, but not all travelers are tourists.

“Traveler” can be simply defined as someone who travels; people travel for different reasons such as for business, conference, medical checkups, charitable work, and also to visit family and friends. Travelers usually move at a slow pace, preferring to experience than merely seeing the sight. “Tourists” can be simply defined as someone who travels to another location just to enjoy the new location. Their main aim is for pleasure; tourists usually have a plan for their trip in which every moment is outlined. Tourists are usually found in masses.

The terms tourists and travelers are usually used interchangeably but you should realize that they do have some differences that will allow you to distinguish the two from each other. When you say tourist, this means that this is a person who will not go beyond his comfort zone.

He will usually do some sightseeing and just see the different tourist spots that are available. When you say that someone is a traveler, this is someone who would like to make it a point to go to various places and actually meet the people who are living in those areas. A traveler would like to make sure that he will get a slice of the culture of the places that he will visit.
