India was under lockdown for 21 days and this lockdown actually got extended several times. This was done in order to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in India. It should be remembered that this virus is considered to be a threat in various parts of the world although there are some people who do not believe that this virus is true.

The population of India was required to have strict movement for more than 21 days so that they would not spread the virus to anyone anymore. It should be remembered that this virus is highly contagious and anyone can get affected. There are a lot of people who have survived but there are also some who have died because of this virus.

The Prime Minister of Indian Narendra Modi declared 21 days of total lockdown for the people of India. It was declared so as to combat or contain the ravaging pandemic COVID 19. He stared that anyone who goes out is risking inviting the virus into his own home.

Before that, on a Tuesday, the police had enforced lockdowns across various large parts of India and placed it under curfew, as the health officials warned that coronavirus was spreading out of big cities, where it actually first appeared, into smaller towns. Health researchers have warned that more than a million people in India could be infected with the coronavirus by mid-May.

Coronavirus is a deadly viral disease whose cure has not been discovered, and it also has no vaccine. It attaches itself to a host, and the person though a carrier, does not feel sick; he carries it up and down, distributing it to people.

India was under lockdown to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. The lockdown was ordered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi when the country only had 500 cases. They have over one billion population, so it was necessary to lock down the country to prevent the spread.

There were are a number of rules put in place to ensure the lockdown was effective. People were not able to leave their homes, except for essential needs such as going to the grocery store or for medical attention. They also only allowed their citizens to work from home. The lockdown started on March 25 and ended on April 14.

The world is currently battling with a disease known as coronavirus disease, which has claimed thousands of lives since it was first discovered in 2019. And one of the methods being adopted by most countries to stop the spread of the disease is by putting their countries on a lockdown. The 21 days lockdown declared by the Indian government on March 25 was meant to achieve this purpose.

As of that time, the reported cases of the infected people in India was around 500+. The implication of this on a country with a population of 1.3 billion people in relation to the spread of the disease was actually what necessitated the declaration of a national lockdown in India.

This was declared by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He stated that the total lockdown was the best option at hand unless the country is ready to face the severe consequences of not acting on time to stop the spread of the disease.
