Dejar and Salir are two Spanish words that are usually considered to be the same, most especially when they are translated into English to give leave and exit, respectively. However, those who are very conversant with the usage of the two words can easily spot their differences since they are often used in different contexts. The common translation for the term Dejar is 'leave.' This shows that Dejar is used mostly as a verb, and it can be used in so many ways. It means to leave something without having any intention of going back to it again.

It also means to leave something behind by mistake or accidentally. At times, you can use the word to mean that you have quit something. Salir, on the other hand, simply means to exit or to go out. This might look so much like the meaning we have for dejar, but the proper usage of any of the two verbs depends solely on the context of the sentence. At times, salir can be used to refer to the change in position, appearance, and status of something or someone.

Dejar and Salir are two of the most used words in the English language. Dejar is a verb that means leave. The word is used when you imply that you left something behind. Dejar is also the right verb to use when you say or infer that you are done, or you are quitting something. However, the verb salir means to go out or exit.

Much like the verb dejar, salir is used depending on the context of the sentence. The verb salir is used instead of dejar when you are going to leave somewhere. Salir can also be used when you are going out with or dating someone. The two verbs have different conjunction forms.
