No difference exists between the Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit, while the Ghost and the Spirit are the third entity of the Holy Trinity.

The Trinity is known to certain faiths as The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit, or Ghost, and the body of the three is God or one God in three Persons. Some see the Trinity as a barrier, in that some have difficulty growing a personal relationship with God because he is three entities and there is difficulty getting close to him having to go through the other two.

If we are to base our comparison on the modern usage of the two words, we might just conclude that there is no big difference between the Holy Ghost and Holy Spirit. This is because most new translations of the Bible now consider both titles to be the same. However, the first translation of the Bible from Greek to English by King James did not agree to this. The King James Version considered the two as two things entirely. In this version, the Holy Ghost was often used in both the Old Testament and the New Testament.

The adoption of Holy Ghost over Holy Spirit in this version was from the knowledge of the Greek word, which refers to Holy Ghost as the third person in the Trinity, whereas the Holy Spirit presents the spirit of God that visited some people in the Bible. However, the modern translations of the Bible see the Holy Spirit as a suitable word to represent the image of the third person in the Trinity, as well as the spirit of God.
