Acetaminophen and Aspirin are pain killers. Acetaminophen is a pain-relieving drug and helps reduce fever. It is commonly known for paracetamol, and it is safe for pregnant women. The formula for Acetaminophen is C8H9NO2. It is a major element for cold and flu. It is normally processed in the liver; over dose of Acetaminophen causes a liver problem.

The usual dosage for adults is 4000mg and 1000mg per intake. Aspirin is used for pain-relieving, aches, fever, menstrual pain, and others. It is used for stroke or heart attack patients. It has severe side effects such as coughing blood, black, bloody stools, heartburn, fever, dizziness, and others. It is not advisable for pregnant women and feeding mothers. The formula for Aspirin is C9H8O4. An adult daily dosage is 4g.

Both acetaminophen and aspirin are considered to be non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. These are a group of drugs that have no steroid compounds but still have the capability to decrease inflammation. These medications have ingredients that combat pain sensations to the brain. The first significant difference between aspirin and acetaminophen is the way they treat the pain you are experiencing.

Acetaminophen only works on the pain receptors and not inflammation. Aspirin, on the other hand, has been shown to diminish the number of prostaglandins, which cause both pain and inflammation. Not only does aspirin help with pain, but it also helps the swelling from the injured area, and it works to eradicate it. Aspirin also helps to prevent blood clots, which may even reduce the probability of having a heart attack. On the downside, aspirin is notorious for causing stomach discomfort, and sometimes even ulcers.

Acetaminophen and aspirin are two anti-inflammatory drugs that do not contain any steroid compound in their compositions. One of the major differences between acetaminophen and aspirin is that both work differently. Aspirin has proven to be a better drug since it can effectively handle pain and also prevent inflammation. It works by reducing the amount of the substance that causes pain and inflammation. In contrast, acetaminophen is used mostly for pain relief and may not be able to reduce inflammation.

In other hand words, acetaminophen can only help to relieve pain, but it may not be able to prevent or reduce swelling. Another difference is that aspirin can cause stomach ulcers even when taking in moderation. Out of the two drugs, aspirin has higher side effects. Another difference is that aspirin also has the ability to prevent clotting, and that is why it is usually prescribed for those who are vulnerable to heart attacks.
