The Civic, made by Honda, has been on the road since 1972, and the Mitsubishi Lancer was introduced in 1973. The Honda, initially quite small and basic transportation with an option of air conditioning, has advanced to a mid-size car with different models that comes with A/C and all the trimmings. The Honda has been found to treat the consumer right by excellent on-road handling and being a workhorse that will last for several years.

The Lancer also was introduced as necessary transportation with four body styles; however, it has a long and successful rally history. There have been a number of editions over the years with several different names and vendors. The Lancer has been sold under the Dodge, Plymouth, and Chrysler. Lancer is no longer made and was discontinued in 2017.
