Rehabilitation and restoration are terms involved with buildings. In an ecosystem, restoration means the process of recovering an ecosystem that has been harmed. It could be because of soil erosion or human intrusion. Restoration of an ecosystem is an attempt to make it the same as it was before the degradation.
On the other hand, rehabilitation means redemption and reestablishing of ecosystem processes, services, and productivity. It does not, however, mean that the ecosystem will be exactly as it was. When talking about rehabilitation and restoration with buildings, people may choose to improve the home when they begin to see structural damage.
Restoration is a process or act of repairing or altering the features of property the way that it had been before the damage. Rehabilitation means returning the building to a presentable and workable state.
