Two offspring that are born simultaneously are called twins. These twins may be either identical or fraternal. Identical twins possess the same phenotype and genetic make-up. This pair of offspring look the same as each other. Fraternal twins have been fertilized by different sperm cells.
This process is possible because they are a creation of the splitting of one zygote into two separate embryos. Clones, on the other hand, come from being artificially formed in a Petri plate, unlike with twins, whose insemination is accomplished within the security of their mother’s womb. With cloning, the expertly constructed embryo is manually split and then implanted in different wombs.
The surrogate mother can then provide security, nourishment, and development to the unborn children until it is time to deliver the baby.
