Both UTI and Chlamydia are infections, but they differ for many reasons. A UTI is a urinary tract infection, while Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted disease. Chlamydia is passed through during sexual acts, while a UTI is rarely passed through that way. The symptoms that an infected person may have is another difference between them. A person with chlamydia is normally asymptomatic, meaning they do not experience any symptoms. They may not know they have the disease until they get tested. On the other hand, a person with a UTI can experience an array of symptoms, including burning during urination, frequent urge to urinate, and blood in urination.

A urinary tract infection can occur in any part of the urinary system; however, most infections involve the lower urinary tract. Most infections exist within the lower urinary tract. The infection can spread to the kidneys or ureter, and UTI’s are more prevalent in women than in men.

Urinary tract infections are typically triggered by bacteria entering the urinary tract through the urethra and beginning to multiply in the bladder. UT’s are also notorious for causing discomfort in the bladder. Chlamydia is caused by infection; some of the symptoms in chlamydia are the same as urinary tract infections. For example, there can be painful urination and abdominal pain.

However, if there is discharge from your private parts, it is usually chlamydia. There may also be the urge to urinate often, even if nothing is coming out. Chlamydia can lead to a woman being unable to get pregnant, as it can cause severe damage to the organs.
