Sugar is a type of carbohydrate. Sugar are simple molecules. There are many types of sugar, which include glucose, galactose, and fructose. They are used in a number of foods such as honey, syrup, yogurt, and milk. Carbohydrates are complex sugar molecules. One difference between the two is related to their solubility. Sugar is soluble in water, while carbohydrates are insoluble. Another difference between the two is related to their taste. When one tastes sugar, it is sweet. However, though carbohydrates are sugar, they are not sweet. The last difference between them is how they are digested. Sugars are easy to digest, but being that carbohydrates are more complex, it takes them longer to break down.

Some people feel that sugar and carbohydrates are the same things. Carbohydrates are known to be a type of sugar. Take note that carbohydrates can be simple or complex. A simple carbohydrate is also known as a simple sugar. This type of carbohydrate will be made out of one or two sugar molecules.
Complex carbohydrates are known to be made out of three or more sugar molecules. Complex carbohydrates are known to be harder to digest which means that people should steer clear from consuming this type of carbohydrate especially if they would want to live a healthier life or they would like to lose weight.
