WAP and routers are two ways to connect to the internet in an office or home. WAP stands for the wireless access point. One of the differences between them is how they function. WAP gives an alternative when it comes to wires. It allows for the devices to wirelessly connect. With the wireless features, users have more mobility when it comes to how they use their devices connected to WAP. For example, a student could study anywhere in a home and still be connected to the Internet. In the case of the router, it is connected directly by a wire. Therefore, the person using the Internet must have their device connected to the router.
