IPv4 and IPv6 are both internet protocols that are important because the Internet is a necessity at this moment in the world. IPv4 was the first internet protocol that was available. Even after other protocols have been released, IPv4 is still the most used. IPv4 is used to show the different devices that are connected to a specific system. IPv6 was released after IPv4 and is the newer version of the internet protocol. Its' purpose is to provide improvements to the internet addresses that are being used every day. IPv6 is also instrumental to IPv4 users, for it solves any problems that users may be having on IPv4.

An IP is also known as Internet Protocol and there are different varieties that are available. When you say IPv4, this is known to be the very first version available. This is still known to be the most widely used version right now.
This uses an addressing system in order to get to know the different devices that are connected to the addressing system. The IPv6 is known to be the new and improved version of the known IP. This is being used now in order to improve the number of internet addresses that should be handled on a day to day basis.
It is a known fact that there are more people who are connected to the internet right now. Also, the aim of the IPv6 is to help solve the issues that may still be connected to the IPv4.
