What is the difference between Zygote and Fetus?

Zygote and Fetus are two stages that occur in the womb of a mother. In the baby's development, a zygote is an initial stage. It is created when the nuclei of an egg and sperm are fused together. A fetus is the last stage of a baby's development. It is when the embryo is the closest to becoming a human. Another difference between them is related to their structure. A zygote has a unicellular structure, meaning one cell. Fetuses have a multicellular structure, meaning they have different cells. When they are produced is another difference between them. Zygotes are produced after fertilization. Fetuses are produced after the cells divide.

The zygote is known to be the first stage when the baby is still developing. This means that the ovum has already been fertilized because of the coming together of the sperm cell and the egg cell. The fetus is known to be the final stage when the baby is developing. After the zygote, it will be called an embryo.

During the 11th week of pregnancy, that will be the time when the embryo will already be called a fetus. Take note that the moment that the baby is born, that is the time when it will be stopped being called an embryo. Instead, it will already be called a baby.
