Dedication is baptism is both religious activities that done majorly in the Christian world. However, dedication is a process of bringing a newly born baby to church to be dedicated to God and also welcome to church. The parents as well dedicate themselves to bringing the baby to the world and bringing him up in the way of the Lord.

On the other hand, baptism is a consecrated act that is carried out normally or usually by totally immersing a newly converted man or woman into a water body and bringing him or her out again; though some denominations believe that baptism can also be done by the sprinkling of water on the body.

The origin of dedication is gotten in the book of Exodus chapter 13 verse 2, while John the Baptist marks the origin of the baptism of water in the Bible. In addition, for someone who started his or her life in the church, dedication is done before baptism.
