A ruler is a standard tool that is used to measure objects. It is used to measure the length between the top of the object to the end of the object. The standard ruler is twelve inches long. For a meter to be measured in inches, the ruler must be over 39 inches long, for one meter is equal to 39.37 inches.

To make it easier, there are rulers avaliable that provide the measurements in meters, so that a person does not have to covert the measurements. There are also yardsticks and metersticks, as well as measuring tapes that provide measurements in meters.

This would depend on the type of ruler that you are using. If you are using a meter ruler, then you already know that this is just one meter. What if you are using other types of rulers, though? The typical ruler, particularly the one that is being used in school, will have two sides. One side will be 12 inches long. 12 inches is equal to 0.3048 meters.

This explains why, instead of a meter side on the other side of the ruler, you will get centimeters. One ruler is equal to 30 centimeters. Take note that there are other rulers that can be used like the yardstick, which is rather large. This is equal to 3 feet, which means that this is almost a meter.

What you have to realize is that if you are using the normal ruler that you will have in school which is normally composed of about 12 inches or 1 foot, this would not be enough for you to see one meter. Rather, you would find 0.3048 meters in one ruler. There are some meter sticks that look highly similar to a ruler.

This will help you measure in meters easier and better. The meter sticks are usually written in centimeters. There are 100 centimeters needed in order to make one meter. Meter sticks are normally used for different purposes. There are some that are used in order to make art pieces while there are also others that are used in order to do drafting.

A ruler is one of the most customary measuring tools. The ruler demonstrates both imperial and metric measurements. It is a measuring stick marked with units for measuring along its edge. One side is twelve inches long, while the other is 30 centimeters. A meter on a ruler is 39.37 inches.

The yardstick is 3 feet long, or a meter stick is two long rulers. These more extended units of measure can be made up of hard material, while a measuring tape is yet an additional type of ruler made of flexible cloth or metal tape. Each may look different.
