Acids and bases are known to be corrosive substances. They have different pH levels. Acids come with a pH level of 0 to 7 while those that come with a pH value of 7 to 14 are considered to be basic. Usually, when an acid is dissolved in water, it will change the number of H+ ions that are available. It will increase the number of H+ ions. When it is the base that is dissolved in water, it will increase the number of OH - ions that are available.

There are some people who say that bases are usually very dangerous to ingest because they are bad for the body. Some acids are bad for the body as well.
