There are some people who may become confused with the differences between the two. Basically, the autonomic nervous system is known to have two sub-components. The somatic nervous system, on the other hand, will only have one subcomponent. The thing that these nervous systems controls are also different from each other.

The autonomic nervous system will be responsible for controlling the glands and the other internal organs while the somatic nervous system will be in charge of controlling the way that people move and the different muscles that people have. It is important that these two types of nervous systems are working properly so that the body will function normally.
