A hydraulic crane is known to be a type of truck. Some even say that this is a truck that comes with a crane so that it will be able to remove large objects. The crawler crane is known to be a type of crane.

It will be able to move from one site to another easily especially when it would also need to move certain objects. One main difference between the two is their size. The hydraulic crane is large which means that it would need a large amount of space so that it can move from one place to another.

The crawler crane is more appropriate for small to medium sites so that there will be enough space to move around.

Although both hydraulic crane and crawler crane are used to perform similar functions, there are certain differences between the two. Both share common parts such as the operating cab, the slewing unit, the engine, the control area, the jib, and other common parts.

However, you will start noticing some of their differences when you check the system that enables each equipment to perform their various tasks. For instance, the hydraulic system in hydraulic crane is what is powering it towards lifting and moving loads, cargoes, and other heavy materials across the construction site.

Unlike a hydraulic crane that uses a hydraulic system, a crawler crane is usually powered by a feature known as the track and repulsive system. Another difference is that crawler cranes are used mostly in medium sites. In contrast, hydraulic cranes are suitable for medium to big sites. In terms of weight, crawler cranes weigh more than hydraulic cranes.
