A lot of people assume that culture and tradition are the same but there are some differences that will help you distinguish one from the other. When you say tradition, this means that you would need to check out the different beliefs and the various behaviors that people have done from one generation to another.
Culture will be able to describe the different characteristics that may be the same for a certain group of people. Some of the characteristics that would describe the people of the group would stem from the various things that have been experienced by people for a long time. For example, in one culture, people may not be allowed to wear red when they are about to go to a funeral.
The main distinction between culture and tradition is that culture includes the social behaviors of a particular social group. In contrast, tradition is the passing down the most prominent ideas and beliefs of a group of people from generation to generation.
Families and churches pass down traditions. They are also representative of each different society. Culture, on the other hand, is a term that is not just limited to beliefs and behaviors. It also includes knowledge, morals, customs, laws, and any different sort of practice of a social group. Traditions are also said to be a part of the culture.
