There are different types of microphones that are available. VHF means a Very High-Frequency microphone while UHF stands for Ultra High-Frequency Microphone. When it comes to range, UHF is known to have a better range.

This means that if the person using the microphone will have more space to move around in, using UHF can be the better option. The signals that are being released by the UHF can move around the atmosphere better compared to the VHF.

Take note that the frequencies that they would use for wireless microphones will also differ a bit. As long as you would be able to use the 2.4GHz frequency, you will be able to use these microphones well.

VHF stands for extremely high frequency, while UHF stands for ultra-high rate. VHF microphones usually transmit at around 170Mhz to 216 MHz, while UHF microphones transmit between 450 Mhz and 952Mhz, which is over ten times the difference in the frequency range that devices can utilize.

UHF microphones benefit from this vast range of frequencies that can be employed by manufacturers. This range makes it far less vulnerable to interference as you are less likely to run into another UHF device that transmits at the same frequency within the range of each other.

UHF microphones are a bit more susceptible to this because of the amount of VHF microphones in existence and the very narrow frequency spectrum.
