In the NFL, you will see that there are some teams that are under NFC and AFC. There are some people who think that NFC is always better mainly because NFC has a lot of divisions that are known to play better. NFC and AFC are actually created when the NFL merged with the AFL or the American Football League.
This was done in order to make sure that everything is balanced. Ten of the former AFL teams formed to create AFC. There were 13 teams that were left after that so they formed NFL. The division of the teams happened long ago and people are already used to it.
NFL stands for the National Football League, and AFL stands for American Football League. In 1970, the NFL and the AFL merged to form pro league, and the ambition for both parties was to reel in more football fans and finances.
Even though the two different leagues were rivals, they decided to integrate due to public demand. NFL and AFL were comprised of four divisions with sixteen teams each. Their logos are a little bit different.
NFL has a blue N in the center, and the AFL logo has a red A in the center. NFL has it’s playoffs to be able to determine the next champion at the end of each regular season. Before the end of each season, the champion team proves their worth and plays at the Super Bowl.
