There are different types of iron that are available. Iron is known to be a mineral that is needed by the body. At the same time, this is also a type of metal that may be used for different applications. If you would check out iron supplements, you have to realize that they are not all the same.

Ferrous sulfate contains 20% iron. This is different from the other types of iron supplements namely ferrous gluconate and ferrous fumarate. Among these different types, ferrous fumarate will contain the most iron at 33%. Getting to know the different types of iron will allow you to make the best choice.

Iron is an element, which is essential to the health and growth of living things. Enzymes and proteins that contain iron are mandatory in countless biological oxidations as well as transport. Within our cells, iron is present. Iron is commonly found from a plethora of different sources. These include red meat, poultry, fish, leafy green vegetables (like spinach), tofu, black-eyed peas, molasses, and fortified breakfast cereals.

People must consume enough iron so that they do not become iron deficient. Ferrous sulfate is a chemical compound that is often used for people who are experiencing iron deficiency, called anemia.

It is a significant staple in vitamins and supplements, as the recommended daily requirement for ferrous sulfate is 325 mg twice a day for someone who is anemic. Ferrous sulfate is also commonly used as a dye and in the manufacturing of inks, including iron gall ink.
