Many people confuse movie directors and producers, but there are distinct differences between the two. A movie director develops the creative direction of the movie by guiding the cast of the film scene by scene. He or she merges the film’s creative and theatrical aspects. Movie directors generally have the power and position to determine which actors and actresses are cast in the movie.
A movie producer has separate duties from the director. He or she has the power to generate the scenes and instructions for making the films. The movie producer starts, coordinates, manages and controls situations such as hiring key personnel, fundraising and arranging film distribution.
Some of the other responsibilities that a movie producer has is finding scripts, novels, or other source materials, employing a crew of people, and financing and managing budgets.
