Parasites are organisms that feed on other living organisms called Host. Parasites can be animals, plants, or fungi. Parasites don't kill their host before they start getting their food from them. On the other hand, viruses are non-cellular structures. Each virus has a core of DNA or RNA surrounded by a protein coat, which requires a living host cell to replicate.
Viruses are microscopic organisms that can only be seen when you use a powerful microscope. In contrast, parasites are eukaryotic organisms, and they are in various sizes, usually from micrometers to meters for unicellular parasites and tapeworms, respectively. Parasites can reproduce on their own, whether asexually or sexually.
In contrast, viruses can only reproduce when they enter the host's body. Unlike parasites that can be found outside the body of a host, viruses live only in living cells. Parasites don't usually cause severe sicknesses to their host, whereas viruses can cause harmful diseases to their host.
