The root term for antigen is what is referred to as an antibody generator, which happens to be an organic compound that helps in creating antibodies to aid the immunity level of the body. Conversely, the antibodies, which are also known as an immunoglobulin, consists of gamma globulin proteins that are present in the bloodstream of all vertebrates, and different fluids of the body. With the help of the immune system, the antibodies recognize and fight elements such as bacteria or viruses that can cause harm to the body system. Antigens are known to be made of either proteins or polysaccharides.

This might be comprised of components such as cell walls, flagella, capsules, bacteria, toxins, or fimbriae of viruses and other microorganisms. Antibodies, on the other hand, are known to be made of organic structural units, which include some small light chains and some large, heavy chains. The plasma cells present in the blood usually form antibodies.
