Adequan and Legend are two medications that are used to treat certain degenerative joint diseases in horses. Both medications have proven to be very effective in the treatment of diseases such as arthritis. Although both are very effective, Adequan has been widely researched to be a better choice compared to Legend.

Also, Adequan is usually chosen over Legend if you long term improvement for your horses. Adequan contains a substance known as polysulfated glycosaminoglycan, which helps to keep the horse's cartilage healthy. Legend contains a substance known as Hyaluronic acid (HA), which helps to improve the lubricating effects on the joint.

The Hyaluronic acid in Legend is occurring naturally in the joint of the horses. However, Legend also has been researched to work quicker and faster than Adequan since it takes 8 weeks for Adequan to start working. That is why people go for it when they want quick relief for their horses.
