Png is the abbreviated form for portable network graphics. Png is a more recent and newer kind of file, which shares similarities with JPEG and GIF. In several of the cases, Png 8 and png 24 can be differentiated from each other based on the computer bit-level they support.

As a general rule, the number associated with the png is the level of computer bit it supports; this implies that ONG 24 will support 24 but color while PNG 8 will support 8-bit colors. However, the higher bit colors do not necessarily imply a better quality because there are several other factors that dictate the quality of the file.

PNG-8 is only able to hold 256 color max, but PNG-24, on the other hand, can support 24-bit colors and even up to over 10 million colors. Png 8 best is used for lower detail pictures such as computer icons, while the other is best applied for detailed photos.

PNG is one of the many file formats that an image can be saved in. PNG is an abbreviation for portable network graphics. There are two types of this file format, which are PNG-8 and PNG-24. The difference is the number of colors that each saves. PNG-8 saves 8-bit colors. PNG-24 differs from that because it saves 24-bit colors.

Another difference between the two is the number of colors that can be saved. PNG-8 has a maximum number of 256 colors that can be saved. PNG -24 differs from that because it has a maximum of 16 million that can be saved

If in case you are wondering what these are, these are known to be palette variants. When you say PNG 8, this is something that can support up to 256 colors, but you can expect that the colors will be smaller when it comes to size. When you say PNG 24, this means that you are supporting more available colors.

Take note that the space that this will take up maybe a bit bigger. You can use PNG 24 instead of using JPEG. This can be very effective when you need a lossless image format. It will be easier to figure out their differences when you see the images that are saved in these formats side by side.

When saving images on the computer, there are different image file formats that are used, such as WEBP, RAW, GIF, BMP, JPEG, PNG, etc. The main difference between all these image file formats lies in the fact they are supported by different media applications.

When saving images on the computer, there are different image file formats that are used, such as
As for PNG or portable network graphics, there are two main subtypes of this image file format i.e., PNG-8 and PNG-24. One of the major differences between the two is that PNG-8 can only be used to save 8-bit colors, whereas the other is used to save 24-bit colors. As a result of this, the maximum number of colors that can be saved using PNG-8 is 256. In contrast, the maximum number of colors that can be saved using PNG-24 is approximately 16 million. This is the reason why PNG-8 is used to store small images while the other is used mostly for detailed graphics.
