Although URL and IP Address is usually referred to as identifiers, there are some differences between the two. An IP address is a number assigned to the network interface of every computer or other device which is active on a network supporting the Internet Protocol in order to distinguish each network interface from others.
On the other hand, a URL or Uniform Resource Locator consists of so many things such as the domain name, the protocol, and other Internet resources. From the explanation given above, the only difference between the two is that they are pointing to two different things entirely.
Another difference is that an IP address can be part of an URL, while IP address is a unique set of numbers, specifically assigned to identify the network interface of every computer plus its location. Another difference is that a URL takes you straight to whatever you want on the Internet, while an IP address is pointing to a computer.
