Bullying occurs when a person perceives themselves as more powerful and preys on someone they perceive as weak. This intimidation is especially actual in a school setting where bullying is commonplace. This form of torment can be traumatizing for a child. It is certainly not good for their already fragile self-esteem. If a child knows he or she will be bullied, they will often attempt to get out of going to school.

Often with hardcore bullying, it continues until the victim somehow gets away from the one who is bullying them. Harassment is more of a legal issue. It will typically involve the workplace, and it is often entangled with some form of sexual harassment or discrimination.

Harassment is usually more subtle because adults know how to present themselves as a non -threat to the victim, especially in front of others. Harassment is a human rights issue. It is discrimination based on sex, race, age, religion, or disability. Both forms of torment tend to break the victim down until they feel helpless.

Most people at one stage or the other have faced harassment and bullying, which can cause destabilization of their routine, self-confidence, or even their health as a whole. It is important to know the difference between them to avoid using them interchangeably.

Bullying can be defined as a persistent act to make life unpleasant for another person, it also involves intimidating a person, bullying takes place at school, parking lot, workplace, etc. People who engage in bullying usually do it from a sense of insecurity or inadequacy.

Harassment can be defined as persistent attack and criticism causing worry and distress, it also involves deliberate pestering. Harassment can take place anywhere and it is based on discrimination of someone color, nationality, sex, and creed, etc. harassment is mainly regulated by federal.

Although bullying and harassment are most times considered to be the same, there are some differences between the two. Bullying means an act of intimidating an individual towards doing certain things. These persistent acts are usually intended to make life unpleasant for someone else. This is usually experienced at school, workplace.

This usually happens between two people i.e., a bully and the person being intimidated. Most of the time, this is usually done to us by people we know. On the other hand, harassment is also similar to bullying in terms of meaning, but it is not limited to places like schools and workplaces i.e.,

it can happen anywhere. People usually get harassed due to their race, color, sex, etc. While bullying is not always counted as a serious offense, harassment is a punishable offense in some countries. The most common type of harassment in our society is sexual harassment, where people are forced to engage in sexual activities against their will.
