Four-wheeled vehicles are usually propelled either by using the two tires that makeup from the wheel or the two tires at the rear wheel. All the differences between Front Wheel Drive or FWD and Rear Wheel Drive or RWD are based on the basic explanation given above. In terms of weight, FWD vehicles are lighter than RWD due to the fact that more components will be added to transfer power to the rear tires in order to cause the vehicle to move.

Due to the addition of more components in RWD vehicles, it will, in turn, increase their weight. FWD vehicles tend to have more space in their interior compared to RWD vehicles. Also, FWD vehicles tend to have more loads in their front due to the fact that the engine is also adding an extra weight causing the weight not to be evenly distributed. In contrast, Rear Wheel Drive vehicles are more balanced.
