The British or English labs are wider with fuller chests, thick necks, shorter legs, while the American labs are slimmer with a narrower head, longer muzzle, and longer legs. The English lab has the famous thick Labrador “otter tail,” and their coats are water-resistant, while the American lab’s coat has a thinner coat.

The American lab stands from 21.5 to 24,5 inches while the English lab stands from 21.5 to 22.5 inches. The American male lab weighs between 65 to 80 pounds while the female weighs 55 to 70 pounds while the English lab weighs higher than the American lab.

The American labs are known to be field trial and hunting dogs while the English dogs are known to be a lot calmer and laid back, which makes them the best dogs for the family.

There are different types of Labradors that are available right now, and people may choose depending on what they like the best. The English Labrador and the American Labrador are a bit different from each other in terms of appearance. First of all, the English Labrador is known to be shorter as compared to the American Labrador.

When it comes to being stocky, the English Labrador is also known to be stockier. They also have some differences when it comes to their overall temperament. If you want a Labrador that is a little bit more relaxed, you are better off choosing the English Labrador. The American Labrador is the more energetic version.
