SDK is an acronym for the Software Development Kit, which acts as a development kit, while JDK is an acronym for Java Development Kit. SDK is used for the creation of an application for certain software packages.

SDK has other features, which include debugging aids and other characteristics present in an integrated development environment. It does not support any proxy server. Many SDK is free of charge and be very easy to download; however, JDK is the most widely used SDK in the market.

SDK uses the autobahn WebSocket library for web socket support while JDK uses netty. JDK is a subset of SDK. SDK is also responsible for the writing and running Java programs. JDK is free software that was released under the GNU General Public License.
