Based on the name itself, you can already guess that the ideal gas is the type of gas that people would like to have. This would fit the type of formula that is expected for gases. The real gas is the type of gas that is expected to be seen right now in reality.

The ideal gas will usually be very small. It will almost have no mass, and it will not have any volume wherein real gas will come with small attractive forces that are highly different from how ideal gas is supposed to react. This means that real gas will obey the usual gas laws. It will show some signs of attractive forces when it is exposed to low pressure and high temperature.
