Green berets and rangers are a component of the special operations forces of the United States Army. Green Berets are the official United States Army Special Operations Forces. Contrasting the Rangers, The Green Berets are trained in what is called “unconventional warfare.” They are also schooled in guerilla warfare, sabotage and subversion.

The Green Berets have six significant areas of focus, including foreign internal defense, hostage rescue, counterterrorism, special reconnaissance, warfare, and direct action. It is quite impressive that the official motto of the Green Berets is “to liberate the oppressed.”

The Army Rangers is now used as a rapid deployment force. Rangers also have many different responsibilities, including direct action, airborne/air assaults, raids, recovery of special personnel equipment, and airfield seizure. The official motto of The Army Rangers is “Rangers lead the way.”
